Privacy policy for InspectBay
What we collect through this website, why we keep it, how long it stays and how you get it removed.
Last updated: March 2, 2026.
Who is responsible for your information
InspectBay is published by MLJ, SASU, the data controller for this website. The publication director is Jimenez Julien. You can reach a human at jimenezjulien42@gmail.com about anything on this page, and that address is monitored by the same person who runs the product.
What the contact form collects
The request form in the contact section of the home page is the only place on this website where we ask you for information. It collects exactly these fields:
- name, your full name, so we know who we are writing back to.
- email, your work email address, which is where our reply is sent.
- company, your shop name, so we can prepare a demo that reflects your business.
- role, your role in the shop, chosen from a short list such as shop owner, service advisor or lead technician.
- size, the number of bays you run, used to suggest the right plan.
- request, what you want from us: a demo, early access or a quote.
- message, your description of what is costing you time at the counter.
- consent, the record that you agreed to us storing the submission in order to reply.
- bot-field, a hidden anti spam field that stays empty for real people.
- Two hidden values, subject and recipient, which route the message to the right inbox.
We do not ask for a phone number, a mailing address, payment details or anything about the vehicles or customers in your shop. Please do not paste customer names, license plates or vehicle identification numbers into the message field.
Legal basis for processing
Under the European Union General Data Protection Regulation we rely on two bases. Answering your enquiry rests on steps taken at your request prior to entering into a contract, and keeping a short record of that exchange rests on our legitimate interest in running an accountable business. The consent checkbox on the form is your explicit agreement to that handling, and you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of what happened before.
How long submissions are kept
An enquiry that does not turn into a subscription is deleted twenty four months after the last message in the thread. If your shop becomes a customer, the enquiry is kept for the life of the account and for three years afterward, so we can answer questions about what was agreed. You can ask us to delete a submission sooner and we will do it, unless we are required to keep a copy for accounting or tax reasons.
Who processes the data on our behalf
Form submissions are processed and stored by Netlify Forms, operated by Netlify, Inc., 512 2nd Street, Suite 200, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States, which also hosts this website. Netlify acts as a processor and handles the submission in order to deliver it to us. Our reply then travels by ordinary email. Beyond Netlify and our email provider, no other company receives what you send through this form. We do not sell, rent or trade your information, and we do not enrich it with data bought from anyone.
Cookies, analytics and advertising
This website sets no advertising cookies, runs no third party analytics scripts and does not build a profile of your visit. There is no tracking pixel, no remarketing tag and no social media beacon on these pages. Web fonts are requested from Google Fonts so the site renders as designed, which means your browser makes a request to that service and your internet address is visible to it as part of any normal web request. Your browser may keep a small technical cache of those font files. That is the entire client side story.
Your rights in the United States
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah or Virginia, state privacy law gives you the right to know what personal information we hold about you, to receive a copy of it, to correct inaccuracies, to delete it, and to be free from discrimination for exercising those rights. Californians may also ask about disclosure for business purposes. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of, but you may still send the request and we will confirm that in writing. Where a state offers an appeal process after a refusal, you can appeal by replying to our answer and we will respond with a written explanation.
Your rights in the European Union and the United Kingdom
You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection to processing based on legitimate interest, and data portability. You can withdraw consent at any time. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, which in France is the Commission Nationale de l'Informatique et des Libertes.
How to exercise any of these rights
Write to jimenezjulien42@gmail.com with the email address you used on the form and tell us what you want done. We answer within thirty days and usually within three business days. We may ask one question to confirm the request really comes from you, and we do not charge for handling it.
Children's privacy
InspectBay is a business tool for auto repair shops and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under sixteen years of age. If you believe a minor has sent us something through this website, write to the address above and we will delete it promptly.
International transfers
Our publisher is established in France and our hosting and form processing take place on infrastructure operated by a United States company. Where personal data moves from the European Economic Area to the United States, the transfer is covered by the standard contractual clauses adopted by the European Commission, together with the technical protections described in this policy, including encryption in transit and at rest.
Security
Traffic to this website is encrypted with TLS. Form submissions are stored in Netlify's dashboard behind account access controls and are read by a small number of people at MLJ, SASU. Access to the InspectBay application itself is protected by individual accounts, and shop inspection data is covered by the commitments set out in the terms of service.
Changes to this policy
If we change how this website handles your information, we update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will also be described in a short note on the home page for at least thirty days. The legal notice holds the publisher and hosting details referenced above.
