Terms of service for InspectBay subscriptions

What your shop is buying, what we owe you, what we do not promise, and how either side ends the arrangement.

Last updated: March 2, 2026.

1. Acceptance of these terms

These terms form the agreement between MLJ, SASU, the publisher of InspectBay, and the business that subscribes to the service. By creating a shop account, running an inspection or paying an invoice, your shop accepts these terms in full. If you are agreeing on behalf of a company, you confirm that you have the authority to bind it. If you do not accept these terms, do not use the service.

2. What the service is

InspectBay is a web based digital vehicle inspection tool for independent auto repair shops. Technicians record inspection lines from a phone or tablet, attach photographs and short videos, enter measurements such as brake pad thickness and tire tread depth, and grade each line green, amber or red. Service advisors price the graded lines and send the customer a single web link. The customer opens that link without an account, approves or declines each line, and signs. The service also stores the inspection history, queues declined work for follow up at thirty, sixty and ninety days, and returns approved lines to your shop management system as text with photo links attached.

The service is delivered as software over the internet. No hardware is sold or leased, and your shop supplies its own phones, tablets and network connection.

3. Accounts and eligibility

Accounts are for businesses, not consumers. The account owner is responsible for every user seat created under the shop, for keeping credentials confidential, and for removing technicians and advisors who leave. Each named seat belongs to one person and must not be shared across a crew. You must be at least eighteen years old and legally able to enter into a contract on behalf of the business. Tell us promptly at jimenezjulien42@gmail.com if you believe an account has been used without permission.

4. Acceptable use

Use InspectBay to document work on vehicles your shop is servicing. Do not use it to store inspection records for a business that is not licensed to perform the work, to send unsolicited marketing to people who never visited your shop, to upload material you do not have the right to distribute, or to attempt to break, probe or overload the service. Do not resell access, scrape the interface, or copy the product to build a competing tool. We may suspend an account that puts the service or other shops at risk, and we will tell you why in writing.

5. Subscriptions, pricing and billing

Three plans are offered. One Bay costs $49 per month and covers one technician account and one advisor seat. Full Shop costs $99 per month and covers up to eight technicians and three advisors with the follow up queue, management system write back and technician scorecards. Multi Shop costs $219 per month and covers up to five locations with group reporting and shared templates. Prices are stated in United States dollars and exclude any sales or value added tax that applies to your business.

Every plan is billed monthly in advance from the date the shop account is created. Inspections, photos, videos and customer approval links are unlimited on all plans, so your invoice does not change with volume. If your shop outgrows a plan, the change takes effect on the next billing date and is prorated. We give at least thirty days written notice before any price change, and the new price applies from your following renewal.

6. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time from the owner settings screen without calling or emailing anyone. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the billing month you have already paid for, and there is no termination fee and no minimum term. Partial months are not refunded, except where required by law or where the service was unavailable for a prolonged period through our fault. After cancellation your inspection archive stays downloadable for ninety days, after which it is deleted from active systems.

7. Your data and your customers' data

Your shop owns its inspections, photographs, measurements, notes, approval records and customer contact details. We store and process that material only to run the service for you, to support you when you ask, and to keep aggregated, non identifying operating statistics. We do not sell it, we do not hand it to parts vendors or marketing companies, and we do not use your customer list to promote anything. An owner can export the full history to CSV files and original resolution images at any time. Your shop remains responsible for handling vehicle owner information lawfully, including any notice or consent your state requires before sending inspection links by text message.

8. Service availability and support

We target 99.5 percent monthly availability outside announced maintenance windows, which are scheduled outside United States business hours wherever possible. Support is by email on every plan with a same business day reply, and Full Shop and Multi Shop include phone support and onboarding. The service depends on third party infrastructure and on the internet connection at your shop, neither of which we control end to end.

9. Warranty disclaimer

The service is provided as it stands. To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted, error free, or fit for a particular purpose beyond the description in section 2. InspectBay records what your technicians observe and report. It does not diagnose vehicles, does not verify measurements, and is not a substitute for the professional judgment of a qualified technician or for the safety standards your shop follows.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from the service in any twelve month period is limited to the subscription fees your shop paid in that period. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profit, lost work, lost vehicles, goodwill payments to customers, or claims arising from a repair decision made by your shop. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud.

11. Indemnity

Your shop agrees to hold MLJ, SASU harmless from claims brought by a third party that arise from your use of the service in breach of these terms, from material you upload, or from the way your business communicates with its customers. We will tell you promptly about any such claim and will not settle it without talking to you first.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product changes or as the law requires. Material changes are announced by email to the account owner at least thirty days before they take effect, and the date at the top of this page is updated. If you do not accept a change, cancel before it takes effect and the old terms govern your final billing month.

13. Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by French law, and any dispute that cannot be settled amicably will be brought before the competent courts of Paris, France. Mandatory protections available to you under the law of your own state or country are unaffected. Questions about this agreement go to jimenezjulien42@gmail.com.
